Art Empowerment

Since September 2019, we have offered weekly Art Empowerment sessions to the Center's consumers at Oakwood Church by artists from the New Braunfels Art Council and former art teachers. These sessions provide improvements in fine motor skills, social skills, and group dynamics in a near perfect world. Individuals will experience transformation as their quality of life improves, creative expression soars and self-awareness sparkles.

Music Enrichment

We provide weekly Music sessions at the Center since September 2018. As of August 2020, we launched Music Enrichment virtually! Yes, that's right - virtually with Elisabeth Hand, Music Therapist and Marisa, Intern Music Therapist from the Ecumentical Center in San Antonio. Our first group now has 9 consumers enjoying Music Sessions from their homes. Our goal is to expand to multiple sessions so as many individuals who are right now "stay at home" in their own homes, group homes or assisted living facilities can join in the therapeutic experience.

Cemex Vegetable Garden

The individuals at the Center travel most weeks to the south side of New Braunfels where they help maintain the Vegetable Garden Center at Cemex. They learn how to plant, grow and pick the vegetables. Once vegetables are harvested, they are delivered and enjoyed at various sites around town such as the New Braunfels Food Bank, Connections and used at the Center, too.

(NOTE: Service by the consumers has been currently discontinued since March 2020 due to COVID-19 epidemic. Cemex's employees have been keeping the garden growing and delivery the produce during these challenging times.)
